The Manor House, Sedgefield

The Manor House

In September 2007 Dewjo'c Architects moved into its prestigious new premises in Sedgefield, County Durham having refurbished the exterior and interior of the historic Grade II Listed Manor House which dates back to 1707

Boasting a prominent position in the town and an impressive entrance hall and grand staircase leading to the first floor, The Manor House also retains the basement prison cells from its days as a Magistrates Court. Some minor internal alterations were necessary to improve circulation and office layouts and these were agreed with English Heritage and Sedgefield Borough Council who had also occupied the building in the past

Phil Newbold, the Senior Associate at Dewjo'c Architects overseeing the project, said "Although Dewjo'c has redesigned the interior of historic buildings for many clients over the last 100 years, it is rare to have the opportunity to design our own working environment and put our stamp on the new practice headquarters"

This building is now occupied by Devereux Architects, part of the PM Group of Companies
